General Informatics

The General Informatics course realizes a presentation of notions and concepts of informatics with distinguishing between the theoretical informatics and applied one. The course gives to the students the information necessary to understand the hardware and software characteristics of personal computers and to use them. The course gives to students the foundation for programming computers and applies this in programming with an universal  programming language. Visual Basic was selected as programming language  since the students have to design and build application (in the second year) using VBA. The procedural instructions of Visual Basic are introduced together with a graphical representation and the syntax of their equivalents in Pascal and C++/Java. For the object oriented programming the course introduces the general theory together with the implementation in Visual Basic and samples of usage. The General Informatics course realizes also an introduction to operating systems and to computer networks.
